Committed to You

IN THESE TIMES OF COVID-19...

We believe that theatre programs are more vital than ever, given their ability to support the social and emotional wellbeing of our youth in this time of great challenge. That being said, however, we also uphold the importance of preventative measures. We provide sanitizer in multiple places near doorways, performance areas, and in classrooms. MCT asks that if your kiddo is not feeling well and experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with anyone testing positive in the past 2 weeks, that they stay home until all clear.  We ALL cannot wait for "normal" again, and are so thankful for all of you bearing with us as we steadily approach that bright future together!

Through careful thought and deep conversations, we have developed our policy with you all in mind. Please read carefully below, and feel free to contact us with any questions.

Matchbox Children's Theatre COVID-19 Policy

Written Plan for providing a safe environment during COVID-19 Pandemic

Procedures

1.   Matchbox Children’s Theatre will follow suggestions set forth by the CDC for classes and camps to promote behaviors that reduce the spread of COVID-19, for maintaining social distancing, and to maintain a healthy environment for students and staff.

2.   We will follow CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting community facilities.

3.   We will follow the recommendations of the CDC and limit our class sizes.

4.   All employees, students, and family members will check their temperatures every day before arriving at MCT. No one will be allowed at MCT with a temperature over 100 degrees.

5.   All employees, board members, volunteers, students, and actors for MCT will wear a mask when in the MCT facility.

6.   Anyone that develops COVID-19 like symptoms may not be permitted in the MCT facility. If someone develops symptoms of COVID-19 throughout the day they must leave, children will be isolated until a family member can come and pick them up.

7.   If an active COVID-19 infection occurs during a camp session, a class session, or a rehearsal of a play that session will be cancelled. Anyone with direct exposure to COVID-19 must be quarantined according to the current CDC recommendations. If anyone develops symptoms of COVID-19 they will not be readmitted until a negative result can be provided.

8.   Staff must wash hands, and monitor children’s hand washing for effectiveness, according to the recommendations set forth by the CDC and the Minnesota Department of Health. Also, staff must use hand sanitizer and offer it to students if soap and water are not readily available.

This policy will be updated as situations change and as information is provided by the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health.
