A Little About Us...

Founded in 1975, Matchbox Children's Theatre's mission is to spark imaginations by presenting professional quality children's theatre on a consistent basis, while delivering theatre education excellence.

Matchbox Children's Theatre (MCT) is an independent, nonprofit organization that organizes, encourages, and produces quality theatre for children and families in Austin and surrounding areas. MCT encourages children to grow in their love and expression of live theatre through three performances a year, camps, classes, and events. Our vision is that young people will advance their skills in creativity and imagination, develop a broader education of the world, while fostering community and inclusion.

We also help support our nonprofit and the community simultaneously through our Second Act thrift shop program. This operational program's mission is to fuel imaginations and create sustainability for MCT and our community through donated goods, resources, and outreach.
Supporting our community in the now, and positive development of our future, is at the heart of everything we do - and a passionate team that understands this connection is the core of our success!
