Join Detectives Chuckles and Calamity and help solve the case! Strange sounds and lights are coming from the Nature Center, and someone has to figure out why...is that someone you? Find yourself whisked away to a world of imagination in nature, thanks to our wonderful friends at Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.
Ready to join us for the 42nd round of this wonderful partnered event by the Jay C Hormel Nature Center and Matchbox Children's Theatre? Let's go! As always, this is a family friendly event for all ages. Travel the wooded paths of Jay C. Hormel Nature Center in guided groups of 20, heading through every 10 minutes. It takes about 50 minutes to reach the end.
End your evening inside the Interpretive Center, greeted by apple cider and delicious cookies provided by the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.
$1/item suggested donation greatly shows the Nature Center your support!

You're in the right place! This page is the ONLY location where volunteer lantern guides can book for this year, so what you see is what's available!
GUIDE SLOTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR REGISTRATION SEPT 10 12:00AM - OCT 10 12:00PM
We cannot process bookings through any other channels this year. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to make this process smooth for everyone. If online registration is closed, you may show up to register at the ticket booth in person.
We can accommodate two adults/responsible teens per time slot. A registered participant may bring one child/other person, but we cannot exceed this due to group size limitations. Please note that we allow only one guide booking per family to ensure everyone has a fair chance to participate as a lantern guide this year. If we detect duplicate bookings, we will need to cancel one.

Your role will be to carry a lantern at the front or back of each group, assisting the group to move along after each skit ends, while ensuring everyone stays together and no one is left behind.

You will have minimal interaction with the actors.
